Invisalign Tooth Aligning System

For those who want the benefit of straight teeth without the look and discomfort of braces, Invisalign offers a workable solution that does not require any metal braces. This tooth straightening system gives exceptional results without the look, feel and discomfort of braces. Dr. James J. McCall is pleased to offer Invisalign to his patients who are looking for a better solution to straighten their teeth.

How Invisalign Works

Invisalign works by creating a system of clear aligners designed specifically for each individual patient’s anatomy that the patient wears to gradually shift the teeth into a more natural position. The aligners are worn whenever the patient is not eating or brushing, providing constant pressure to move the teeth. As the patient progresses through his or her unique system of aligners, the teeth gradually shift into position. Because the aligners are clear, they are not visible and do not detract from the patient’s appearance. This makes Invisalign a favorite choice among adults who are looking to permanently improve the appearance of their smile.

Benefits of Invisalign

Invisalign is used as an alternative to traditional braces, providing patients with a straight smile they will be proud to show. Because the Invisalign aligners are not attached directly to the teeth, they can be removed when needed. This allows the patient to brush, floss and eat normally, leading to cleaner teeth when the process is over. It also means that patients do not have to avoid certain foods that can damage traditional braces.

Yet this convenience is just one benefit of Invisalign. It’s also a more attractive option. For most patients, Invisalign is less expensive and requires less upkeep than traditional braces.

With all of these benefits, it’s no wonder that so many people are choosing Invisalign for their teeth. In fact, there are over 1.5 million people enjoying the freedom and tooth straightening allowed by Invisalign. Whether you are an adult or a teenager, if you are looking for a straighter, brighter smile, you could be one of the millions benefiting from Invisalign.

One Day Crowns with CEREC®

When you have a broken or damaged tooth that needs a crown, you have several options available to you. Yet if you have heard of the trauma people endure getting a traditional crown, you will be glad to know that you have new options. Roxanne Rozarro, a dental assistant working for Dr. James J. McCall, discusses a new option, crowns in just one day with CEREC®, in this recent video.

The Problem with Traditional Crowns

Prior to this development, getting a crown was a lengthy, messy process. First, you had to visit the dental office to have impressions made. In that initial visit, your tooth would be prepped and a temporary crown inserted. Of course, that temporary crown was not good for eating anything hard or chewy. You would suffer with the temporary crown for two weeks while your crown was being made, then return to the dental office for placement of your final crown.

How CEREC® Crowns Are Different

Now, with CEREC®, a new option exists. CEREC® requires no impression and no temporary crown. You will visit your dentist, and your tooth will be numbed and prepared for the crown. Then, just 1.5 millimeters are reduced in a 10-minute procedure to prep for the crown. The dentist then uses digital picture technology to scan the tooth and design a crown in the office. Porcelain is placed into a milling unit, and you can watch as it is milled into your new crown.

Once the crown is milled, it will be fitted into your mouth to check the fit. When you are happy with the fit, it is stained and glazed and placed in an oven for 25 minutes. Then, it is permanently placed in your mouth, all in the same visit.

Benefits of CEREC® Crowns

When you visit your dentist for CEREC® crown placement, you experience less discomfort. You also only have to have your mouth numbed one time. This means less time in the chair, less time off work and less time waiting for your crown. Also, these crowns contain no metal, so you will never deal with a black line at the gum line. They look, feel and work like natural teeth, providing a permanent solution to your broken or cracked teeth. Talk to your dentist today about CEREC® crowns.
